Cascarilla: Chalk Eggshell Ritual Powder
Representing life and birth, commonly used to create spells of protection. Eggshell ritual powder (Cascara or Cascarilla) is a great addition to your ritual crafts. Sometimes called peace powder. Cascarilla is a powder made from grinding white egg shells. Most commonly used for psychic protection and guarding against negative spirits. Sprinkle onto your body or around your home. Place some in the four corners of a room to cleanse and protect the area. In chalk format, it’s used to draw sacred symbols (pentacles or crosses for example) or magickal sigils on doors, door frames, and window frames. Cascarilla chalk can also be used to mark boundaries for sacred space sites or decorate sacred items. When mixed with water, and oftentimes a smidge of resin, the powder then becomes paint. The paint is typically used on the body for ritual adornment.
